The Red & Gold brigade reached Goa on Tuesday (January 24) afternoon for their next away fixture against FC Goa, slated to be played at Fatorda’s Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on January 26, 2023.
Meanwhile, FC Goa, won their last fixture 3-1 against Kerala Blasters FC and currently occupy the fifth spot with 23 points from 15 games (7 wins, 2 draws, and 6 defeats).
Although EBFC lost their last fixture 0-2 against Hyderabad FC, their custodian Kamaljit Singh made 5 crucial saves. In a recent chat with the EBFC Media Team, the Punjab-born goalkeeper spoke about his comeback into the playing XI after sustaining a hamstring injury, the support staff’s contribution to his recovery, and the upcoming clash against FC Goa.

On his comeback into the starting XI
The saves were crucial for my team at that point. That has certainly boosted my confidence a bit. I was out of action for a few weeks. I would have been happier had we won the game.
On the support staff’s contribution
The support staff helped me a lot during my recovery phase. They have given me a lot of confidence and helped me return to the field so quickly. They are one of the prime reasons why I have returned to the first XI.
Match against FC Goa
FC Goa have been playing quite well. They beat Kerala Blasters 3-1 in their last game, which should boost their confidence. That said, we’ve prepared well to face them. We are determined to do well against Goa.
His message to the fans
All of us are working very hard to give our best on the field. This is a process. Most of us are playing together for the first time. If the fans support us, I’m sure we can finish the season on a better note.
Stephen Constantine is under severe pressure to get results for his side. FC Goa will be looking to solidify their spot in the top six especially after their confidence-boosting victory over Kerala Blasters.
