The Mariners picked up a 1-0 victory over the Nizams, as things stand, Hyderabad FC lost the top spot, while the Kolkata outfit climb up to fourth in the points table. Hugo Bumous’s calm finish in the first half is the only difference between both sides.

The host had to make two changes due to injuries to Dimitri and Joni. Carl McHugh and Ashique Kuruniyan replaced them while the visitors made four substitutions bringing Gurmeet Singh (Goalkeeper), Reagan Sigh, Hitesh Sharma, and Borja Herrera.
The Mariners were on the front foot from the get-go, creating early chances. The constant pressure eventually paid off when ATKMB went for a quick breakthrough Liston who found Hugo free in the right. A Slight indecisive moment between HFC defenders helped Liston to go one-on-one with the goalie but the no. 17 failed to beat the keeper, who made a fine stop to deny a clear goal. The visitors kept on chasing for the equalizer, which eventually opened up a few chances for the Mariners to double their lead. However, ATKMB couldn’t manage to do so as they saw out the final burst from the nizams. This win will certainly give the players a lot of confidence as they look to take on Bengaluru in their next match.
