5-star ATKMB Silence Kerala Blasters in a high-octane clash in Kochi: The recent results had Juan Ferrando back against the wall however, his side, ATK Mohun Bagan outshined Kerala Blasters in an end-to-end game at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi. It was a perfect response from the Mariners as the final scoreline read 5-2 in favor of the Kolkata Giants.

The game started rather in a familiar fashion with the Yellow Brigade launching attacks in every possible way. Things were so difficult that the Mariners even failed to hold the ball for the first quarter of the first half. Eventually, they succumbed to the high press as Ivan Vukomanovic’s side went opened the scoring through the new hero, Ivan Kaluyuzhni who had a brace against the Red and Gold Brigade.

The more the game got older, the more the Mariners looked comfortable on the ball. Eventually, a quick transition down the left led Hugo to be one on one against the Goalie and the no.10 put it onto the platter for the new no.9 Dimitri to restore parity. Since then, the Mariners never looked back and went on to threaten KBFC’s defense at regular intervals. Finally, a perfect-weighted pass by Manvir was stunningly finished by Joni Kauko as ATKMB led going into the break.

With the fans roaring from the start of the game, Sahal & co were all set for an immediate response however, the quick transitions in counters were too good to be stopped. Dimitri found the back of the net following an incredible pre-assist by Hugo.

Although, Kerala Blasters were not ready to drop their shoulders as they freshened up the lineup by introducing Rahul KP. Eventually, the changes halved the deficit following a howler by Vishal Kaith (scored by Rahul KP). Juan Ferrano added his own flavor with changes of his own as the substitute Lenny Rodriguez restored the two-goal lead with a shut-up celebration. The Goan’s goal might have been considered a knock-out punch but Dimitri’s goal to complete the hat trick was certainly the nail in the coffin.

Not happy, but Juan looked relieved as ATK Mohun Bagan pick up their first points of the campaign. With Kolkata Derby coming up on 29th October, his side will certainly have loads of confidence going into the game. Nonetheless, Ivan Vukomanovic’s side is mentally strong enough to pick themselves up and go again. So, this is all about the match between ATKMB and Kerala Blasters.
